ALFRED SHAHEEN BROWN TAPA Sarong style dress with matching detachable waterfall shawl. Wowza. This dress is a knockout! This style is classic Shaheen, with the diagonal 3D bodice feature which is a hallmark of the sarong dresses by this incredible label. The skirt is a gentle draped style which is affixed at the waist area.

She also has her original waterfall shawl which attaches with three buttons under the bodice area. She fastens to the back with a centre back metal zipper. She has been laundered and pressed and is ready to wear. She has some flaws which are identified in detail below and she is priced to take these into consideration.

This set is well loved by her previous owner and came to me with several flaws and issues, I have repaired and restored her as much as I can but she is sadly not perfect. Her fabric is still bright and her colours are crisp, however the fabric itself is not crisp and new, it feels more soft. When I got her the bodice lining was completely torn and separated, this has been fully repaired now, however the lining has some mild discolouration, it looks like a cream colour, not white. The three buttons that attach the shawl are not original, but these cannot be seen from the outside.

She has some very small areas of repair on her skirt which are very difficult to see from the outside, I could not even photograph them as I could not see them!

The main issue is on her waterfall shawl, she had two areas where the shawl was cut in two L shapes which went all the way through both sides of the fabric. These have been repaired but can be seen when examining closely. There is a "good" side and a "not so good" side, if wearing the shawl with the good side outwards I believe it is unlikely that others would even see these or the repairs. She also has some repairs around the buttonhole area which cannot be seen when attached to the dress.

She has been taken up previously so she does have evidence of fade on her hemline but this does blend with the print so is not obviously apparent unless examining closely
