UTTERLY BREATHTAKING is what everyone who sees this dress says when they see it. An exquisite example of 1950s glamour by Ceil Chapman, this dress will take your breath away. She is a white coloured silk wiggle dress with a cotton-silk blend mesh style overlay which is covered in beading. The beads are a small blue glass bead interspersed with a sparkly silver sequin. This dress sparkles and glitters as she catches the light. With the hallmark draping by this incredible designer she has a vertically ruched and gathered bodice and her sequinned light grey silk chiffon fabric drapes in the most incredibly constructed yet appearing effortless way over her bodice. The silk chiffon drapes softly around under the bust area to the back of the dress where she falls into an incredible waterfall effect. The back of the dress features a plunging v neckline and she fastens with a metal zipper and hook and eyes. The beaded overlay joins with hidden snaps and there are hooks and eyes over the zipper so all of the construction is completely hidden from view. The dress features boning in the bodice to retain her flawless shape and her construction is immaculate. This beauty has been fully restored included laundered and re-beaded where there was previously bead loss. She will come with a small ziplock baggie of spare beads and sequins which are original to the dress and may be used for any future repairs. She has no flaws or faults she is in immaculate vintage condition. There may be some very minor bead loss however all of her visible areas appear to have been restored. Due to the value and delicacy of this piece she will be posted in a box with acid free tissue.
