GIGI YOUNG was the sister label of Suzy Perette and was aimed at a more youthful market, but often had very similar styles and construction. This particular Gigi Young is beautifully made and is definitely of the quality of her bigger label sister.

I believe this beauty to be from the late 1950s approximately 1958-1959 though she may be from the very early 1960s. 

She is a pale light blue cotton and she is fully lined in pellon. She has a v neck with a gathered bodice that meets at a diagonal bow. Her lower bodice has the most amazing seaming which radiates from the bow down toward the hip when the fabric turns into inverted pleats and creates an incredibly full skirt.

Shown in these photos with two crinolines, this doesn't come close to showing how full this skirt actually is. 

The back of this beautiful piece has a v neckline and fastens with a centre back metal zip and hook and eye.

Flaws/Faults/Repairs

This beauty has been dry cleaned however I could still find some small areas of discolouration. She has some mild underarm discolouration on her right underarm, a very small 1/16 inch diameter brown spot right near the sleeve edge on the back of her left sleeve, and she has some mild yellowish-brown what looks like storage marks to the right side of her skirt near her hem. This was difficult to photograph and I could only see this in very bright light.
