RED LADY & THE TRAMP NOVELTY CIRCLE SKIRT - with 16 delicious panels this beautiful skirt is in a bright vivid shade of red. This skirt was originally sold as a panel "Kit" at J.C.Penney in 1955 for the bargain price of 59 cents per yard! (Thank you to Denisebrain Vintage for this information). 16 panels make up a full circle with a total cost at the time of $2.36 (equivalent to US$22.93 today!). The panel kits did not come with a waistband so ladies would often use any available fabric to make one.

This skirt was formerly very damaged and has been lovingly, thoughtfully and very carefully restored, you would be challenged to find another skirt like this in such amazing condition. A lot of time was spent finding the right cotton fabric to get a perfect match to the red on the skirt to achieve the perfect colour waistband. She has also had a matching button and era appropriate metal zipper added and all seams have been sewn so she is ready to survive for another 70+ years. 

A highly collectable and coveted piece, this beauty is definitely one for the collection, these skirts continue to increase in value year on year and are getting harder and harder to find.

Flaws/Faults/Repairs
This skirt was found with a very large waist size, so her seams have been reduced to make her smaller to fit a 27 waist, however all seam allowance is intact so the new owner could easily make her larger or smaller by releasing or adjusting her seams.

There are two brownish spots on "Lady" at the front left of the skirt, one is just above her eye and the other is in her mane, these spots were only observed when photographing, as they are discreet and get lost in the print. 

There is one small hole less than 1/8 of an inch in size on "Tramp" at the front right of the skirt, this is on his right front leg. This is difficult to find and see.

She was previously made shorter at the hem, this has been released and she has been returned to her original length but there is a very very very minor colour variation here (this is truly barely noticeable!) and some faint ghost stitching.
